Her professional training includes executive education in investment management from London Business School, advanced responsible investment and ESG analysis from the PRI Academy, and sustainability and impact measurement programmes from Harvard Kennedy School, University of Cambridge and Duke University, underpinned by an academic background in economics.

She has a proven track record of working closely with sponsors, governments, and development partners to de-risk early-stage projects and guide them through financial close and execution.
In addition to her executive and advisory roles, Funmi brings significant board and committee experience, including service as Chair of Finance, Strategy, and Investment Committees. She is known for rigorous investment judgment, clear strategic thinking, and the ability to balance commercial returns with development and impact outcomes.
Funmi's perspective on investment committees is both analytical and pragmatic, combining disciplined financial assessment, robust risk management, and a strong understanding of operating realities in emerging markets. She is particularly valued for her ability to challenge assumptions constructively, support management teams, and help institutions deploy capital responsibly and at scale.
